Music and Choir

Choral Evensong
with the Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge

Monday 18 July, 16.00

The most beloved of Church of England services sung for us by one of England's top choirs.

Worship with the words of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and music from the wealth of the Anglican choral tradition.

Please arrive in good time.

Music in Worship

Our music is in the very capable hands of Christine Morgan our organist and choir director, who teaches at the Opera Högskolan.

The liturgical music we use Sunday by Sunday has been especially written for this congregation by her husband Murdo.

Our Choir is made up of people from the congregation and has the task of supporting the congregation's worship in the singing of the hymns and sung parts of the service, and offering an anthem or other sung item once a fortnight or so.

At Christmas time it is augmented for our service of 9 Lessons and Carols. and twice a year it sings the service of Choral Evensong according to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

Christine brings to bear the skills she uses in her work at Opera Högskolan so the Choir is coached with care and expertise.

If you can sing SATB she would be delighted to hear from you.
Especially if you are a tenor!
You'll find her email here.

The choir practises from 10.00 to 10.45 and 12.30 to 13.30 on Sunday
and tends to take time off over the summer
(though singers are always welcome to robe and sing any time).
