Children Welcome

Everyone who works with children here has been vetted with the Swedish authorities to check for past offences.

Anyone with an offence against a child or minor is absolutely prohibited from working with children or vulnerable adults.

Our safeguarding office is Zoe Mills Rammer
You can contact her here.

A detailed Child Protection policy has been adopted by the church in accordance with the stringent guidelines of the Church of England.

A copy of this is available in the church.

If you are looking after a young child you may feel anxious about bringing them to church.  Be assured, children are especially welcome as part of our worshipping community.

They often seem to feel comfortable and at home in the building, and enjoy the colourful activity of worship and its quieter moments.

If you want to take a restless child out of the service, a comfortable hall is available, and there are gardens all around to play in.

Every Sunday we offer a creche room where mums and dads can be with their small children during the 11.00 Service.

Godly Play

Outside holiday times we will offer Godly Play for children who can be left by their mums and dads.

Godly Play teaches children the art of using religious language - parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action - helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.

The children begin the rest of us in the service then go out to the Godly Play room, returning in time for communion.

They will sing together, become familiar with the great bible stories and be listened to as they share their thoughts and experiences.

And you can find out more about Godly Play at

We are currently looking for people who can help make the Godly Play resources for us.

Can you sew or use a jig saw? Do you enjoy making things in wood?

We need to equip the Godly Play classroom with the people and animals and buildings of the Bible to help us tell the stories well. If you could lend a hand with this then please contact Nick Howe the Chaplain.

Children's Choir

Encouraging children to sing is a one of the most delightful parts of the Church’s rich musical tradition.

So here at St Peter and St Sigfrid’s we
'll be teaching our children to sing together, building on the success of the Children's Christmas Choir.

Every month, in the Godly Play slot while the grown-ups are in the 11.00 Eucharist, Emma Grossmith will help our children sing for pleasure - and for performance too.

Emma is a trained singer, with young children of her own, and knows how to get the best out of a children's choir.

All children of all abilities are welcome. Just turn up. There will be a lot of fun and a lot of learning.

All Age Services

Once a month we have an all age service when the children stay with the rest of us throughout and take a full part in the worship.

Taking Communion

If your children have been used to taking communion then they are welcome to do so here – whatever their age.  We leave this up to you.
