Wedding Information

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions. Please do get in touch if there is anything else you would like to know.

Who can be married at the church?
You don't have to be a member of this church to marry here. Anyone of any tradition or nationality who meets the Swedish legal requirements is welcome. If you want to be married using the Church of England service and have been married before, you will need to discuss this with the Chaplain.

How do we book?
Sending in the booking form secures a provisional booking. The Chaplain will also encourage you to come and look at the church - on a Sunday morning, if you can, when it's got people in it. The date and time of the wedding should be agreed in writing with the Chaplain before other arrangements are made!

Can we have a Swedish wedding?
Yes. But you'll need to arrange for a Swedish priest and preparation for the service.

Can we have a wedding in more than one language?
Yes, but you'll need to choose between English and Swedish as the basic language, and then include elements such as readings, hymns and prayers in the other language.

Can you provide an organist?
Almost always. You are also welcome to use other musicians.

What does a wedding cost?
We receive no financial support from the state or the wider church and depend largely upon donations, so we need to charge realistically for a wedding service. For the past few years the basic cost for the church has been 5000 SEK, with another 2500 SEK for a musician, and another 3000 SEK for the priest, preparation and any other staff involved. The separate organisation that owns the hall charges 500 SEK for the use of its cloakroom facilities.

Who decides on the service?
We use the order of service provided by the Church of England. Weddings in other traditions are possible - you'll need to discuss that with the clergy concerned. With an English wedding, we'll discuss what you would like when it comes to hymns, music, readings and so on. Putting together a service that is personal to you is part of the preparation we do together.

A wedding here offers you a wonderful setting, a beautiful building and God’s blessing as you begin your married life together. We hope that you will want to explore this further with us.

Summer or winter, spring or autumn, the church always looks beautiful - inside and out.

But it is at its best when it is full of people.  So why not visit us at 11.00 on a Sunday morning - and stay to talk with the Chaplain over coffee afterwards?

Here are some pictures to give you an idea what it looks like.

You'll find a 360 degree view of the inside here.
